Green Values
Business aviation's worldwide carbon emissions are approximately 2% of all aviation - amounting to 0,04% of global man-made carbon emissions. The aviation industry has to respond to the sustainability challenge whilst the demand for faster mobility is growing.
The global business aviation operating and manufacturing communities have announced a strategy to further mitigate the industry's greenhouse gas emissions. As part of the European business aviation community Airfix Aviation contributes to the achievement of the following targets:
- Carbon-neutral growth by 2020
- An improvement in fuel efficiency of an average of 2% per year from today until 2020
- A reduction in total CO2 emissions by 50% by 2050 relative to 2005.
These targets are based on advancements in four areas: technology, infrastructure and operational improvements, alternative fuels, and market based measures.
Airfix Aviation is determined to minimize environmental footprint of its business operations.
Our first priority is to avoid where possible producing emissions. The second priority is to reduce the negative environmental impact of our operations. Our third priority is to offset our greenhouse gas emissions. In our environmental management system, we use international standards and protocols (ISO, ICPP etc.) where appropriate.
Environmental issues are a great concern for the whole business community and we, as a business aviation company, take full responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint.
